National Mosquito Control Week 2017

National Mosquito Control Week 2017 ceremoniously commenced at Campbell Park, Borella on Wednesday, 20^th September 2017. Hon. Minister of Health Dr. Rajitha Senanayake, Hon. Chief Minister Isuru Devapriya, Deputy Director General Health Services Dr. Sarath Amunugama, The Director of National Dengue Control Unit Dr. Hasitha Tissera and Chief Medical Officer of Health Colombo Municipal Council Dr. Ruwan Wijayamuni were distinguished guests at this event.

 The Ministry of Health in collaboration with Colombo Municipal Council, Environmental Police and the tri forces will be carrying out house to house inspections and spraying and fogging mosquito breeding areas during this week. The Public Health Department of the Colombo Municipal Council has provided 68 teams to aid this cause. Numerous site inspections and programs will be conducted during this week and the program will be concluded on Sunday, 24^th September 2017.
