Signing Ceremony of the Record of Discussion for the Establishment of the IT Master Plan on Tax Administration and E-Tax System Implementation

The Signing Ceremony for the Record of Discussion (RoD) regarding the establishment of the IT Master Plan on Tax Administration and the implementation of the E-Tax System for the Colombo Municipal Council took place on July 03, 2025, at the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government.

The event was attended by officials from the Ministry of Public Administration, the External Resources Department, the Ministry of Digital Economy, and representatives from the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). Also in attendance were the Municipal Commissioner and senior officials from the Colombo Municipal Council, along with Her Worship the Mayor of Colombo, Ms. Vraie Cally Balthazaar.

The signing marked a major milestone in the collaboration between the Colombo Municipal Council and KOICA, aimed at modernizing the city's tax administration system through the introduction of an advanced e-tax system. The project will focus on enhancing tax collection efficiency, improving transparency, and fostering better public service delivery, ultimately contributing to the digital transformation of local governance.
