Breast Cancer Awareness and Screening Programme at the Colombo Municipal Council

In commemoration of World Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Colombo Municipal Council, in collaboration with the Indira Cancer Trust, conducted a Breast Cancer Screening and Well Woman Clinic on 17th October 2025, at the CMC premises.

Her Worship the Mayor, Ms. Vraie Cally Balthazaar, together with CMC staff members, actively participated in this important initiative. The programme aimed to screen staff members for breast cancer, promote early detection, and raise awareness about the importance of regular self-breast examinations.

This joint initiative reflects the continued commitment of both organizations to empower communities through knowledge, encourage timely medical intervention, and reduce the stigma associated with breast cancer.
