Inauguration Ceremony of City-wide Mosquito Prevention Week 2018

A City-wide Mosquito Control Week is conducted by the Public Health Department of Colombo Municipal Council in collaboration with Ministry of Health and Presidential Task Force to prevent possible outbreaks of Dengue with the forthcoming monsoon season.

The Inauguration Ceremony of this event was held today, the 3^rd of April 2018 at Town Hall premises under the patronage of Her Worship Rosy Senanayake, The Mayor of the City of Colombo. The activities of this programme will continue till the 9^th of April where public awareness, House to House inspection programs and onsite Mosquito control activities will be conducted.

The Public Health Department of CMC will deploy 100 teams consisting 500 personnel each per day including health officials of the Colombo Municipal Council, Tri Forces and the Environmental Police.

The program will be targeting the Dengue High Risk Areas of the city of Colombo and the target is to inspect approximately 30000 premises by the 9^th of April.
