A program to empower marginalized children in municipality limits

A skill development program was initiated by the Colombo Municipal Council for under privileged school children in municipality limits. The public Library, the Sports and Recreation Department and the Public Assistance Department collaboratively conducted the program at the “Siri Nivasa”, Marcus Fernando Mawatha, Colombo 07.

The inaugural session of the programme was held on 22^nd July 2023 with distinguish participation of Ms. J.M. Bhadranie Jayawardhana, Municipal Commissioner of Colombo Municipal Council. The skill development session was conducted by Ms. Emma Boshman, a volunteer at the Public Library.

This skill development program aims to strengthen the soft skills of children including language, competencies, music and sports.
