Awards ceremony of the literary competitions held to mark the National Reading Month was held on 5th November 2018 at the Public Library auditorium. 

Alhaj M.T.M Iqbal, Hon. Deputy Mayor of the Colombo Municipal Council was the Chief Guest of the event Mr. Palitha Nanayakkara, Commissioner of the Local Government, Mr. W. Sunil, Director General of National Library and Documentation Services Board graced the occasion.

 

The Students who secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd places of the literary competitions in Sinhala and Tamil media received their prizes. Ms. Bhagya Abeysuriya of University of Visual Arts and Performing Arts delivered a lecture on appreciation of folklore songs. 

 

105 students and their parents and the heads of the departments of C.M.C participated at the event.
